This week’s tip is from two Indiana basketball legends, Kyle Macy and John Wooden. Macy played at Purdue & Kentucky before going on to a successful NBA career. Wooden won 10 NCAA titles as head coach of UCLA.

“Discipline is doing what you’re supposed to do when you’re supposed to do it, doing it to the best of your ability, and doing it that way each and every time.” Kyle Macy

“Perform at your best when your best is required. Your best is required each day.” John Wooden

These quotes speak for themselves. In Macy’s case you don’t shoot 89% from the free throw line by taking nights off. And is there any way John Wooden’s UCLA teams would have won 10 NCAA titles in a span of 12 years if he didn’t perform at his best every day? I think not.

Luke 9: 23 “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”

I will be traveling to the Final Four this coming week to promote my book, The Blue Team. Athletes in Action has graciously offered to share their booth space with me and asked me to emcee their 50th anniversary celebration. Should be a fantastic weekend! And while the Final Four is taking place in Houston, TX, the GW Colonials are headed to the NIT final four in New York. What’s not to love about March Madness?! And the perfect compliment is The Blue Team. Order your copy today.
