In honor of the Super Bowl, I selected today’s Tip of the Week from former Pro Bowler and 11 year NFL veteran, Corey Chavous.
“Are you in the ice bath after practice as much as you are in the weight room before practice?”
I know you’re thinking, huh? So far these tips have focused on the mind and soul of the athlete. Todays is about the body. Corey knows his stuff: he missed only 5 games in 11 seasons due to injury! What he is getting at is you need to spend time taking care of your body & focusing on recovery. If you don’t you’ll eventually wear down. Overtraining will simply accelerate this. So work hard, but recover hard! And enjoy the Super Bowl… and your ice bath if you need it.
